Imperfect Purses: Add Shopaholic To My Profile If You Haven’t Already

So, I fell in love with an imperfect bag at the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale.  It is a little white Kate Spade number made of satin with a little flower.  I didn’t buy it because it had a little black mark on the side, and I was thinking $180 is too much for something that has a little black mark, even if it is on sale.

Well, thought about it and thought about it.  Even dreamed about it.  Went back to the sale and it was still there.  Bought it, tried to clean it, made it worse, still love it.  Would pay full price for it if I could find it anywhere on-line, but I can’t.

Question being: do I keep it in clean conscious considering it’s defects and it’s price?  Won’t it just get more black marks?  Especially if it’s anything like my mini van?  Someone, give me the shake or the nod…

It seems to me that Kate Spade would be excited that you wanted her purse with a black spot on it, that you thought about, dreamed about… Kate designed the purse with the black spot specifically for you! Think of all the money you saved, think about poor Kate who needs this income in a down economy, think of all the people you are helping keeping the economy going!
It is not only destiny, but your civic duty to have purse with a black spot that Kate made.

We are soul mates. That’s exactly what I thought: thank-you, Kate, for creating this special, less than perfect handbag just for me. Special people are needed to take care of the ‘special’ things in life.

While I am a fan of Kate’s, I can’t go along with the purchase of The Purse that Kate Made. You wouldn’t have bought it at full price if it were blemished (unless the sales person gave you a discount because of the flaw which she would have so there goes that argument).
Nevertheless, I have way too many items bought ON SALE that need minor repairs, alterations or the loss of a few pounds that I have never worn or used and NEVER WILL! So, in order to cut down on spending I have developed a no scratch, no marks, no chips, no flaws of any kind, NO WAY policy.
But that’s just me. Now that it’s done, enjoy your purchase. (By the way, of course you will get it dirty anyway, it’s WHITE!)
