Snippets of last night’s conversation
- Is your homework all done?
- Yes, I did it at school.
- Are you sure that there is nothing to work on?
- Yep.
- Did you put all of your things for the dance recital in your bag?
- Yes, mom.
- Are you sure that you have everything that you need?
- Yes, mom.
Snippets of Today’s Reality:
If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. I pick up John at school and his teacher tells me that he didn’t turn in his homework today.
As my daughter is getting ready for the dance recital rehearsal, she all of a sudden can’t find her leotard. She had to go to rehearsal 15 minutes late in an old, leopard print, gymnastics leotard.
Are the lips moving and nothing is coming out? Is something being lost in translation?
As I muse about the peculiarities of the Universe, my husband looks at me and gives me a “This is all your fault,” look.
As Charlie Brown’s mother once said, “Wah wah wah wah wah wah.”

P.S. When the homework is not done for school…is it bad child or bad mom? BAD MOM!
When the daughter can’t find her leotard and has to dance in a spotted number that is definitely not black…is it bad child or bad mom? BAD MOM!
